This is my second work for Bass Trombone and Piano, following the composition of Three Scherzos and a Lullaby which is published by Warwick Music and distributed by Hal Leonard, and which was premiered by Christian Jones at the Royal Northern College of Music in February 2022.
It was designed as an encore piece for Jonathan Warburton, the UK born but American-based performer and was composed (in Mid-Wales) in the summer of 2022. It has a simple ternary structure and is essentially monothematic since even the minute central section clearly makes reference to the original idea.
