Constellations explores the unique relationship between music and astrology and the different characteristics or traits that each star sign represents.  These characteristics can be replicated on the trumpet, giving each study different moods and expressive qualities.  

Each of the twelve studies within this book represent the order of star signs and their characteristics.  The character trait to be represented appears in boxed text and gives the performer an indication of the style and emotion to play each passage.  This makes this book unique from conventional studies as it facilitates and encourages a strong sense of musicality, expression and style in order to convey the character traits of each etude. 

At the start of this book, the positive and negative characteristics of the star sign are listed to give the player ideas on stylistic & expressive elements to bring to the piece.  Before playing each etude, it is suggested that you refer to these in order to incorporate some of the stylistic qualities in the piece.  The ideas in boxed text are merely an indication of the style and manner in which to play each section, but of course the performer may include other characteristics from the text preceding the study.  Changing the characteristic qualities in this manner will alter the way the study will sound as they could be performed in many different ways giving them longevity and a range of exciting possibilities.
