Greenwood: The Swanker (ed Glinthanger)

The Swanker

Dr Mike Glinthanger, brass musicologist of the University of Northern South Alaska at Tubkas, whilst carrying out research into British brass band trombone repertoire and the use of the glissando, discovered the hand written manuscript of this work in a cupboard in a Victorian band room in Lower Slidestock Mills in West Yorkshire, England. After a study of the compositional techniques used he believe it could be a lost opus attributable to J.A.Greenwood, composer of the famous trombone solo, the Acrobat. Certainly the title has a similarity which would suggest a common font.

Warwick Music are proud and honoured to be given the opportunity to make available this interesting historical work to the general public and hope that it might gain as much recognition as its famous sister work.

To gain wider appeal soloist?s parts in both Bb treble and bass clef are included.
