The inspiration for this flute duet came after seeing a photo on YouTube of a young Native American girl playing the flute while sitting on a rock on Long Island. The duet uses a mode of the indigenous North American peoples on Long Island. It is dedicated to Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway.
