Adrian Taylor

Adrian Taylor was born in 1968 and began to learn the trumpet when he was 9 years old. At 11 he moved onto the trombone, worked through his grade exams and went to the University of Birmingham to continue his musical studies, receiving trombone lessons from Reg Reid and Denis Wick. He has played trombone with a number of professional orchestras, including two years with the Natal Philharmonic Orchestra in South Africa and with many chamber ensembles for whom he has arranged a number of pieces.

Adrian also works as a conductor, instrumental teacher and sectional coach. His work with Staffordshire Performing Arts resulted in many arrangements for student groups including his collections of pieces made for Tamworth Junior Brass published by Warwick Music and four arrangements for the International Trombone Festival Education Day in Birmingham, where he conducted an ensemble of over 200 young trombonists!

He has written over 200 musical arrangements and compositions, including 20 commissions for the ABRSM Music Medals series, 13 commissions for the Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, 30 arrangements for brass band, over 90 brass ensemble arrangements and 12 arrangements for trombone quartet/ensemble, which are published by Warwick Music.
