These eight pieces are ideal for use in Wider Opportunities projects for year one starters. They have been written with differentiation in mind.
Below is a summary of the characteristics of each piece:
1. Weightless - only 2 sounds, C and G
2. Blast Off - only 2 sounds in parts 2 and 3 and 3 sounds in part 1 over a range of CDE making it the easiest piece
3. Strange New Worlds - part 3 uses C
4. Alien Attack - part 2 uses D only
5. Hero's Return - all parts use a range of notes and semiquaver tonguing
6. Boogie Woogie - part 4 uses D only and part 3 uses simple rhythm but only A and G
7. Dance of the Planets - part 4 only uses D and E and part 1 only uses
8. Space Travel Blues - part 4 only uses C and F
These pieces can be played by any similar treble clef reading group.
