Solo Bass Trombone & Trombone Octet
The piece describes the course of a day in the Provence (France), looking out of a small tent located in a lavender filed. From the rising sun in the morning, and the awakening of the day in the first part; the outburst of a thunderstorm in the second part to the sunset in the evening with its beautiful red coloured landscapes.
The composition is based on interval series that are divided over all trombones in the ensemble. This way, a complex harmonic and melodic structure is created through which the solo bass trombone weaves its way.
