Corrado Maria Saglietti
CORRADO MARIA SAGLIETTI, born in 1957 in Costigliole d’Asti, studied horn with Prof. Giacomo Zoppi and graduated with the highest honors. Since 1977 he has been a member of the Rai National Symphony Orchestra where he is Principal Horn.
With the Rai Symphony Orchestra of Turin he has appeared as soloist on different occasions, interpreting A.Vivaldi, F.Martin, R.Schumann, E.Nunes, W.A.Mozart, B.Britten.
He is a member of a very successful chamber group: “Brass Express”. Under the guidance of Prof. S.Tresca and G.Bosco, in 1986 he received a degree in Composition in the Turin Conservatory. In the same year his composition “Concerto for Tuba and four Horns” (Editions Bim) won the third prize at the International Neotuba Composition Competition of Akron University Ohio, Usa, and was premiered at the New York Brass Conference.
Now on CD: “Variations” American & German Horn Ensemble, Markus HØtzel (solotuba) Saarl¬ndischer Rundfunk. In 1988 the International Horn Society awarded C.M.SAGLIETTI first prize for his piece “Virtuoso” for Horn and Piano (edited by Hans Pizka) and which he also premiered at the International Horn Workshop of Munich in 1989. The “ Suite for Alto Trombone and Strings Quartet “(Editions Bim) was commisioned and recorded on CD by the soloist Joe Burnam in 1993 and performed in Italy,in Germany and in the USA.
